He has already described the early excitement as "contagious" and believes the Eisteddfod will deliver lasting benefits for the region. Mr Griffiths said: "The National Eisteddfod will be very welcome when it comes back to Maldwyn in 2027. "He was one of the pages when the Eisteddfod was held in Machynlleth back in 1937. Mr Griffiths said: "It is a privilege and an honor to be chosen as chairman of the executive committee for the Maldwyn Meirionnydd National Eisteddfod and I beg everyone to make every effort to support us."
