Eastbourne ranked second on the affordability list at £115 per night, followed by Torquay at £129. The research also identified the UK’s most popular and “viral” staycation destinations based on social media activity and search trends. London secured the top spot with 173 million Instagram posts tagged #London and 1,465,200 annual Google searches related to visits and accommodation. Northumberland came second, followed by Southend-on-Sea in third place.
