Francis Barr , 27, of Robin Square, Newtown , appeared before Welshpool Magistrates' Court for sentencing on Tuesday, August 4, having previously admitted the offence. The court heard he has eight convictions for 11 offences between 2020 and 2025, including offences involving failures to comply with court orders. He said Barr had attended because of concerns about his child and described the breach as "very much a technical breach". Magistrates imposed a 12-month community order, including six months of electronic monitoring. The court heard his engagement with probation services had been mixed.
