Major milestone reached in new river crossing project

The steel structure, more than 25 metres long and weighing around 24 tonnes, was delivered from Northallerton in Yorkshire to Evesham.
It is the clearest sign yet of progress on the new crossing, which aims to improve transport links across the River Avon.
With two more sections arriving in August and the bridge lift planned for later this year, we're moving ever closer to delivering this piece of infrastructure for Evesham."
Two additional sections of the bridge are expected to arrive in August, with plans to lift the full bridge into place later in the year.
The Hampton Bridge project forms part of Worcestershire County Council's wider plan to boost sustainable transport in Evesham.
