The Llŷr Wind Farm, approved by the Welsh Government, will be built in the Celtic Sea off the coast of Pembrokeshire. Adam Price, cabinet minister for enterprise, connectivity and energy, said: "Major offshore wind projects such as this important scheme can be catalysts for economic growth and prosperity. The development, led by Cierco Energy, is designed as a test and demonstration site for new offshore wind technology. The wind farm aims to showcase innovation in capturing wind energy in deeper waters and is part of a broader vision to position South West Wales as a leader in the sector. Power generation from the Llŷr Wind Farm is expected to begin in 2031.
