Children travel free on buses to Lake District destinations in August

Designed to help families cut the cost of days out, the promotion allows children aged five to 15 to travel free throughout August, while under-fives travel free at all times.
The 534 Grange-over-Sands to Windermere service is a new summer route with stops at Grange promenade, Holker Hall, and the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway.
Families can board at Haverthwaite to catch a steam train to Lake Windermere, with the option of continuing to Bowness or Ambleside by connecting lake cruise.
Pooley Bridge offers shops, cafés, and the chance to combine a bus and boat trip on the Ullswater Steamers.
The UB2 route also stops at Lowther Castle, where families can explore castle ruins, gardens, and an extensive adventure playground.
