Keswick Mountain Rescue Team were called out to the incident at Moss Force, Newlands Hause, at 2.41pm on August 2. Off-duty medical professionals initially helped the man until emergency services arrived. In a statement on social media, Keswick Mountain Rescue Team's said: "A multi-agency response was initiated following a report that a man had slipped and fallen a considerable distance down Moss Force near to Newlands Hause. "Sadly, despite the best efforts of all involved, the man died as a result of his injuries. The incident prompted a multi-agency response involving Keswick Mountain Rescue Team, Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team, the Great North Air Ambulance Service, North West Ambulance Service, police, and the fire service.
