Coniston Mountain Rescue Team was called after the North West Ambulance Service requested assistance for the casualty at the Little Langdale beauty spot. The incident was initially passed to Langdale and Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team after it was believed to be within its area before being transferred to Coniston. The woman was assessed by the team, given pain relief and had her injured leg placed in a splint. They carried the casualty by stretcher from the quarry to their vehicles before taking her to her family’s car in Little Langdale.
