School Board to review policy on building naming rights

BRAINERD — Officials at Brainerd Public Schools plan to work on a policy that would allow financial contributors to the district to receive naming rights for school buildings.
The person must also no longer be active in their career and must have shown a broad-based, long-term impact to the school district.
The policy does not allow for naming rights in exchange for money.
Headline News from the Brainerd DispatchBoth Rankin and Board Chair Sarah Speer noted the change on the table right now is just for a policy that would create parameters for naming rights.
The School Board would still reserve the right to approve or reject names.
