In a viral clip on social media, Donald Trump, speaking to a Fox News journalist, has insisted that the United States is having “wonderful” conversations with Iran.
Trump noted that something “disconcerting” happens every time he mentions the US’s talks with Iran to news outlets like Fox News.
While speaking with a journalist in the Oval Office on Thursday, Trump said that negotiations between Iran and the US are “sort of open right now.”
When asked whether there is a deal with Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, President Trump tells @weijia, “It's sort of open right now.”
The Strait of Hormuz remains effectively closed, with commercial traffic through it heavily restricted by Iran.
