The artwork is being painted across the side of the Victoria Shopping Centre's multi-storey car park, known to many residents as the "Curly Wurly". The large-scale mural has been designed by Southend artist Steve Lawes, with support from fellow artists Scotty Brave, Candy Joyce and Dan Luckin. A spokesman for Victoria Shopping Centre said: “Work is now underway on a spectacular large-scale mural that will transform the side of the car park into a striking piece of public art. "Spanning 72 panels of the car park ramp, this incredible artwork is already beginning to take shape and will become a fantastic new landmark for the city.
