Shakinnah Storey, 28, of Northbrooks, Harlow, appeared at Basildon Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, August 6, charged with causing death by careless or inconsiderate driving. The charge relates to a crash on Epping Road in Ongar on Monday, September 23, 2024, involving a black Fiat 500 and a black Ford Ranger. Purity Njagi, 35, also from Harlow and a passenger in one of the vehicles, died at the scene. She was granted unconditional bail and is scheduled to appear at Basildon Crown Court on Friday, September 4. The Crown Prosecution Service authorised Essex Police to charge Storey following an investigation.
