Joseph Wicks, 27, was wanted in connection with a series of serious offences, including a dangerous driving incident in the city which saw three pedestrians hit by a car. In May, armed officers tracked Wicks down to a property in the city, where they found him hiding under his bed, trying to evade arrest. Wicks was arrested and charged with multiple offences, including dangerous driving, driving while disqualified, assault, stalking, and making threats. The dangerous driving incident occurred on November 30, 2025, when Wicks was identified as the driver of a Fiat 500 that mounted the pavement on Queen Street, hitting three people before fleeing the scene. In a separate incident, Wicks also stalked and harassed a woman, culminating in a confrontation on May 8, where a witness reported seeing a metal baseball bat and what appeared to be a handgun in his van.
