Former care home site could become affordable housing

Twenty-one flats could be built on the Home Lea House care home site in Rothwell.
Leeds City Council and Termrim Construction are seeking planning permission for the Wood Lane development.
A design report said the scheme would help meet local demand for housing after the care home was demolished in May 2023.
“The demand is greatest for one and two bedroomed homes which can be best met on this site with an apartment building.”
But the council and developer decided new housing would be the best use of the site.
