Residents served by the Low Moor exchange in Bradford are among the latest to be included in Openreach’s national digital switchover, which will see the old analogue Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) replaced with Digital Voice technology by January 31, 2027. Bryn Thompson, director at digital landline provider Phonely, said: "For many households across Bradford, the home phone is still an important part of everyday life. "The important thing is to understand what's changing before your provider gets in touch, rather than leaving everything until the last minute." The switchover aims to modernise the UK’s phone infrastructure by retiring the copper network in favour of digital lines. Communications providers will contact customers before migration takes place, giving households time to prepare and ask questions.
