Emergency services were called to a two-vehicle collision on the A267, Heathfield, at around 7.55pm yesterday evening (August 6).
A 39-year-old man and two children aged 8 and 6 were taken to hospital to be treated for injuries that are not believed to be serious.
The road was shut for several hours between the junctions with Pook Lane and Sheepsetting Lane while the vehicles were recovered.
The closure was the second of the day to impact the A267, following an earlier collision which led to the road being shut between Vicarage Lane and the B2104 Horsebridge turn off junction.
East Sussex Highways subsequently confirmed that the road had been closed due to an oil spill caused by the collision.
