The blackbird was admitted to RSPCA’s Mallydams Wood Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Centre near Hastings when she was just a "tiny nestling."
In an August 3 social media post, RSPCA Mallydams Wood revealed that the blackbird has now been recaptured alive and well by a licensed bird ringer in Newcastle - "an incredible 481km" (298 miles) from where she was released.
A JustGiving page for RSPCA Mallydams Wood has raised £8,127 in five years.
RSPCA Mallydams Wood said: "Stories like this are a powerful reminder of why wildlife rehabilitation matters.
