BUFFALO LAKE, Minn. — Timely rains and high heat have Brian Ryberg feeling good about the 2026 sugarbeet crop where he farms near Buffalo Lake, in Renville County.
ADVERTISEMENTThis field was lucky to have avoided significant damage from the high wind and frost that some saw in the region.
Ryberg said about 8,000 acres were replanted in the cooperative's footprint of about 123,000 acres following that spring damage.
Brian Ryberg holds a sugarbeet pulled on Aug. 5, 2026, from his field near Buffalo Lake, Minnesota.
This marks Brian's 40th year of farming sugarbeets, and it's looking like one of his better crops.
