Warning: Spoilers ahead for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 4, Episode 3, "Human Best Friend. During his limited screen time, Spock's most memorable scene comes in the form of initiating a mind meld with a plant. While I don't pretend to be an expert on Vulcan mind melds specifically, I have watched, loved, and written about Star Trek for years. Despite Ortegas' protests that it is simply a plant, Spock tries to initiate a telepathic link with it, and...well, succeeds. Either way, I'm convinced Star Trek: Strange New Worlds isn't canonizing Vulcan-plant mind melds.
