Immigration director-general Zakaria Shaaban has reminded his officers that every immigration-related transaction is being closely monitored to prevent abuse of power. PETALING JAYA : Immigration director-general Zakaria Shaaban says the department identified the officers allegedly involved in hacking its MyIMMs system immediately after the incident, but deliberately held off taking action to expose the entire syndicate. “Actually, we identified the officers involved on the first day of the incident,” he said, reported Bernama. Eleven immigration officers have been arrested for allegedly conspiring to hack the MyIMMs system to facilitate the unauthorised application and approval of PLKS. Zakaria previously said the department would cancel all PLKS approvals found to have been issued by the syndicate that infiltrated the MyIMMs system.
