(Bernama pic)SHAH ALAM : The Selangor government intends to raise the median household income of Selangor residents to RM14,500 a month and reduce the unemployment rate to 2.2%, menteri besar Amirudin Shari told the state assembly today when tabling the 2nd Selangor five-year development plan.
He said the latest government statistics showed that median monthly household income had already reached RM10,726, exceeding the target of RM9,290 in the first five-year plan.
Among the initiatives planned to achieve the new income target is the formalisation of the care economy, involving informal workers who currently provide childcare and elderly care services without adequate guidance and support.
