PETALING JAYA : Former prime minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob has successfully undergone a pacemaker implantation procedure at the National Heart Institute (IJN) to treat an abnormal heart rhythm. IJN said the procedure was carried out this afternoon, and Ismail had since been advised to rest following the operation. His lawyer, Amer Hamzah Arshad, said Ismail had become dizzy during questioning. The probe was reportedly linked to the expenditure and procurement of funds for promotional and publicity activities under the Keluarga Malaysia initiative, during Ismail’s tenure as prime minister from August 2021 to November 2022.
