(Image: Getty)The New Zealand sharemarket plunged nearly 1% on further uncertainty over the Middle East situation and a fresh rise in the oil price.The S&P/NZX 50 Index fell at the opening and traded steadily until a sharp decline in the brokers’ matching session, closing at 13,824.13, down 133.93 points or 0.96%.The index was up nearly 0.9% for the week and is ahead about 2% for the year to date.There were 49 gainers and 81 decliners on the main board, and volumes were lighter at 38.4 million shares worth $103.4m.
