Zhandos Qairgeldi has been elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kazakhstan’s national gas company QazaqGaz. The decision was made by the Management Board of Samruk-Kazyna on August 6, 2026, which also terminated early the powers of former QazaqGaz Board Chairman Elzhas Otynshiev. "He has more than 10 years of professional experience in corporate finance, strategic and financial planning, investment project management, risk management and corporate governance," the press service notes. The personnel changes took effect following the decision of the shareholder’s Management Board. QazaqGaz is Kazakhstan’s national vertically integrated gas company and a portfolio company of the Samruk-Kazyna Sovereign Wealth Fund.
