Recent filings from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) have revealed a PHEV version of the Ora 5 (potentially named Ora 5 GT), marking the Ora brand’s first foray into plug-in hybrid electric vehicles. The new Ora 5 GT features a redesigned rear cargo area and an increased overall length. According to the optional badging in the filings, the vehicle utilises “Hi2” power technology, effectively filling the gap in Ora’s plug-in hybrid product portfolio. Wheel options include 215/50R18 and 225/60R18 specifications. The Ora 5 GT is powered by the GW4B15M 1.5T turbocharged engine produced by Great Wall Motor.
