International Beer Day (IBD) was founded back in 2007 in Santa Cruz, California and began as a way of bringing people together to enjoy great drinks, thank local staff, and celebrate global brewing traditions. Now, brewers and beer venues are using the date to springboard their own campaigns and marketing activities. To celebrate IBD all over the world, beer experts are also partaking in a range of brews. For instance, beer sommelier, international beer judge, and certified cicerone Paul Davies told db he will be in one of the oldest bars in the world in Belgium “tasting all six editions of the Cafe Vlissinghe house beer”.
