The busy A530 Whitchurch Road at Baddington Bridge is to be closed to all traffic for three weeks as work starts on repairing the bridge. Cheshire East Council says a full closure is necessary between August 10th and August 31st to allow for “ground investigations”. This work aims to provide more details on the condition of the bridge embankment and surrounding area ahead of major repairs work scheduled for 2027. A Cheshire East Council spokesperson said: “We have completed an options study looking at ways to address the issues at Baddington Bridge and the adjoining embankment. “However, depending on the outcome of the surveys and the design development, we are currently hoping works could begin in spring 2027.”
