The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) has imposed monetary penalties totaling $120,000 on Betty Gaming Ltd. after an investigation found weaknesses in the operator’s age-verification and player eligibility systems that enabled underage individuals to access its online gambling platform. Ontario’s gaming framework requires licensed operators to prevent underage access and verify player eligibility before accounts become active. AGCO said those obligations play a key role in maintaining public trust in the province’s regulated online gambling market. Following its review, AGCO concluded that Betty Gaming had failed to comply with two provisions contained within the Registrar’s Standards for Gaming. More recently, in May, AGCO fined Relax Gaming and Arrise Solutions $40,000 each after Ontario residents were able to access unregulated gambling content.
