According to the notice issued by the MCC in this regard, the verification process is mandatory wherever a candidate wishes to claim eligibility under the NRI category.
MCC has stated that once the verification process is successfully completed, eligible OCI and NRI candidates will be able to view both NRI quota seats and Indian Unreserved (UR) seats during the choice-filling process.
This selection is necessary for candidates who wish to be considered for NRI quota seats and undergo the corresponding eligibility verification.
MCC has urged all OCI and NRI candidates to complete the document verification process well in advance, warning that delays in verification could create difficulties during the choice-filling stage.
The advisory comes as MCC continues the NEET UG 2026 counselling process, with candidates being asked to carefully complete registration, document submission and eligibility verification before proceeding with seat preferences.
