Planning permission has been granted for the construction of 20 new apartments in Letterkenny. The proposed development will consist of block A containing six apartments, and a four storey apartment block B containing a further 14 units. The apartments will include shared roof terraces, proposed new entrance and speed table, associated car parking, amenity space, bicycle parking, bin compounds and storm water discharge to the existing stream. Council planners granted permission subject to a number of conditions, including that apartments be used as permanent dwellings only and shall not be used for holiday homes or as short-term rental accommodation. Last month, the same developer was granted permission for redevelopment of a site nearby at Crieve Smith to include nine apartments.
