‎Former Vice President and 2027 presidential hopeful, Atiku Abubakar, has raised concerns over what he described as a suspected breach of his private banking information after an unknown individual reportedly transferred money into one of his personal accounts. ‎‎Atiku, in a statement issued on Friday by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, said the transaction was made into a private account domiciled with a leading commercial bank in Nigeria. ‎‎The former Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate described the development as disturbing, noting that the account involved is strictly private and its details are not publicly available. ‎‎He questioned how an unknown individual gained access to the confidential banking details, warning that the incident raises broader concerns about the safety of Nigerians’ financial data. ‎‎Atiku further alleged that the leak may have originated from persons with privileged access to sensitive information, warning that such exposure could place account holders at risk from kidnappers, terrorists, bandits, fraudsters and other criminal elements.
