"That's actually better than the national shopping centre average of 16.9%, and a long way from where we were in 2018 when vacancy hit 29%. The shopping centre said empty units remain a challenge not only in Yeovil but across the country, pointing to wider changes affecting the retail sector. "Every pound spent in stores helps keep existing businesses open and makes Yeovil a more attractive place for new ones to come."
