The Teacher Education Professional Development modules were developed under the Building Resilience in Crisis through Education (BRICE) programme with funding from Denmark’s development agency (DANIDA) through its Strategic Partnership programme.
Speaking after the launch in Juba, Oxfam South Sudan Country Director Shabnam Baloch said the modules were designed to strengthen teachers’ professional skills while addressing the country’s education challenges.
The launch comes as South Sudan continues to face one of the world’s most challenging education environments, with conflict, displacement, flooding and economic hardship disrupting access to schooling in many parts of the country.
Majuc Madol, principal of the Rambur Teachers’ Training Initiative, said the modules would strengthen teachers’ capacity to respond to diverse learning needs.
“These modules address education in emergencies, teachers’ roles and wellbeing, child protection and inclusion, pedagogy, and curriculum planning,” he said.
