Traffic management, including two-way temporary traffic lights, will be in operation until Friday, August 21. Drivers have been warned that delays are likely during this project, which is being led by Wessex Water. During the roadworks, Wessex Water engineers will be installing a new connection at the site. There were months of roadworks on London Road while Wessex Water worked in Long Close between July 2024 and March 2025. The works caused significant disruption in the area, with residents noticing increased traffic on roads like Wood Lane which were used as “rat runs”.
