Netheravon Parish Council asked Wiltshire Council to register part of the former Orchard Farm in the village as an Asset of Community Value. The parish council says the land has "longstanding and continuing community value" to the village and is popular with walkers. However, the MOD says the land is surrounded by security fencing and claims the application has been made in bad faith. "Its undeveloped character contributes positively to community identity, village character and residents’ enjoyment of the area. The adjoining MOD land at Orchard Farm is gated, preventing access to the Property through Orchard Farm from Netheravon village."
