Lawyer Franco Debono has called for more GPs to carry out home visits, arguing that it could help reduce pressure on Malta’s health centres and hospitals. Drawing a comparison with modern delivery services, Debono wrote:“Today, if you want a pizza, you order Bolt. Imagine if, apart from bringing you a pizza, Bolt could bring a doctor to your home.” Debono also praised the dedication of GPs who still make house calls, saying he knows doctors who continue visiting patients late into the evening.
