The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has sworn in 1,760 corps members for the 2026 Batch ‘B’ Stream II orientation course and the mandatory one-year national service in Bayelsa.
Our correspondent reports that the Chief Judge of Bayelsa, Justice Matilda Ayimieye, represented by Justice Inikade Eradiri, administered the oath of allegiance to the corps members.
In his welcome address, the NYSC State Coordinator, Mr Samuel Pepple, said 1,760 corps members had registered for the mandatory orientation exercise.
Pepple said that the corps members had spent the previous two days acclimatising to the camp environment in preparation for national service.
Diri encouraged the corps members to contribute positively to their places of primary assignment and host communities.
