MORE than 125 goals were scored as over 70 players came together at Shoeburyness High School for a twelve-hour Walking Football tournament in support of Prostate Cancer UK, with the final fundraising total expected to be close to £5,000. Organised by the Extra Time Walking Football Charity, the tournament ran continuously from 9:00am until 9:00pm at the Southend East Community Academy Trust (SECAT) Community Football Pitches. The tournament was played in very warm conditions, but it proved popular with players and supporters throughout the day. The outstanding participation from teams, players, volunteers and local supporters helped create a memorable day, while raising important funds and awareness for Prostate Cancer UK.” To find out more about Essex grassroots football activities, projects and programmes, visit www.essexfa.com and follow the Essex County FA on social media.
