The Joplin City Council will review a proposal next week to expand the city’s trolley system from three routes to five. Under the plan, the city would operate five trolley routes using five vehicles. The system would also shift from one-way loops to a combination of loop and two-way routes. Long-term recommendations call for eight routes serving four communities, 30-minute service on most routes and Saturday service. Members will also review the city’s proposed $170.8 million fiscal 2027 budget.
