Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissionerate Police tracked down and arrested a 25-year-old rape accused in Bengaluru, just days after he escaped from police custody in the Odisha capital. ADVERTISEMENTSutar was arrested on July 30 in connection with allegations of rape on the false promise of marriage. He was picked up from Bhadrak and brought to Mahila police station in Bhubaneswar for legal formalities prior to his scheduled court appearance. A dedicated Commissionerate Police team pursued the lead to Bengaluru, located the accused and took him into custody. After being produced before a local court in Bengaluru to obtain necessary permissions, Sutar was brought back to Bhubaneswar by train this morning.
