Kendujhar: Barbil police in Odisha’s Kendujhar district have arrested a former relationship manager of ICICI Bank and his father for alleged misappropriation of ₹42 from accounts of multiple customers.
The accused have been identified as Jasprit Singh, who earlier served as relationship manager at Barbil branch of the private bank, and his father Vikram Singh, both residents of Mrinal Colony in Barbil.
The scam came to light after Anita Agarwal, a resident of the same colony and a bank customer, lodged a written complaint at Barbil police station on March 14.
She alleged that around ₹16 lakh had been fraudulently withdrawn from her account using forged signatures and fake cheques.
Following which, police raided their residence in Mrinal Colony and took Vikram Singh into custody on August 6.
