State, City Sue South Side Vegetable Oil Plant Over ‘Foul Odors,’ Pollution

The suit alleges the company has allowed excessive odors, caused illegal air pollution, built an unpermitted natural gas boiler that could cause air pollution and violated conditions of its operating permit, officials said.
“The company needs to address the odor issues and air pollution and ensure that its operations comply with Illinois’ environmental laws.”
Neighbors have long complained of odors from Pullman Innovations, which produces vegetable oil products for animal feed.
