Yashoda Hospitals, Hitec City has successfully performed a complex double lung transplant on a 47-year-old patient diagnosed with Anti-synthetase Syndrome-associated Fibrotic Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD), offering him a new lease on life after two years of oxygen dependence. The successful procedure further strengthens the hospital's position as a leading centre for advanced lung transplant surgery in Hyderabad and the management of complex end-stage lung diseases. Following a comprehensive evaluation, a bilateral (double) lung transplant was identified as the only definitive treatment to restore his breathing and quality of life. For carefully selected patients, lung transplantation offers the opportunity to breathe independently again and regain a meaningful quality of life. This successful case reflects the expertise, planning, and commitment of our multidisciplinary transplant program, enabling patients with advanced lung disease to return to active and independent lives."
