All round racketeer Ross Murdoch, from Edinburgh, has been selected to represent Great Britain in the senior Padel European Championships in Valencia, Spain, from October 19-26. “I was selected in the over-45 age group and will partner Mark Oppenshaw (West of Scotland) in the Open Pairs. Ross took up padel about seven years ago just as the sport was laying down roots and the growth has been phenomenal. “I see no reason why padel cannot continue to grow” he said in the wake of three new courts opening in Portobello last month.
