The blaze broke out on Wednesday (August 5) evening on St Christopher Drive in the Friars Park area of at 6.30pm, where crews worked to prevent the fire from spreading to neighbouring properties. A spokesperson for West Midlands Fire Service said: "the incident required 14 fire engines and a 4x4 brigade response vehicle at its peak." "Firefighters worked overnight and at present (9.55am), five fire engines and a 4x4 brigade response vehicle remain in attendance. By the morning of Thursday, August 4, five fire engines and a 4x4 brigade response vehicle remained on site. The fire service has urged the public to take extra care during the warm, dry weather to prevent further outdoor fires.
