Ricky Gervais' new animated comedy Alley Cats has been branded "terrible" and "abysmal" in scathing first reviews. Far from being a purr-fect hit with critics, Alley Cats has received several brutal reviews, being labelled "the worst thing to happen to cats since Cats". Metro thought Alley Cats was "terrible" and "the worst thing I’ve watched on television this year". The Hollywood Reporter labelled Alley Cats "half crass, half sappy, mostly unmemorable", while NME thought it had "very little to offer". Alley Cats is streaming now on Netflix.
