United Kingdom (UK) has appointed Vicky Seymour as its new Deputy High Commissioner to Nigeria, succeeding Gill Lever OBE, whose diplomatic posting ended in June 2026.
According to the statement, Seymour has resumed duty in Abuja, where she will work to deepen the long-standing partnership between the UK and Nigeria.
Seymour brings more than 20 years of experience in diplomacy, international development and public service to her new role.
Before joining the UK civil service, she worked in the not-for-profit sector, where her focus was on migration.
The UK Government said Seymour’s appointment reflects its commitment to further strengthening cooperation with Nigeria across areas of mutual interest.
