Liverpool could sign £60m centre-back imminently; current squad “increasingly resigned” to his exit

Ezri Konsa could be in line to complete a move to Liverpool or Arsenal this summer. Tom Collomosse reports for the Daily Mail that Aston Villa’s squad are thought to be “becoming increasingly resigned” to the prospect of the England international leaving. Collomosse went on to add: “…it is thought the Villa squad are becoming increasingly resigned to Konsa’s departure.” In that sense, we can see why Liverpool would be looking at a positionally versatile option like Ezri Konsa at a relatively reasonable £60m (reasonable in this inflated market), who can cover centre-back and right-back. But we rather suspect a more versatile option like Ezri Konsa is becoming increasingly appealing at this late stage in the summer transfer window.
