After missing the first NASCAR Cup Series points race at North Wilkesboro Speedway since 1996 following team owner B.J. McLeod's DNF at EchoPark Speedway (Atlanta Motor Speedway), Live Fast Motorsports returned at Indianapolis Motor Speedway with Daniel Dye behind the wheel of the No. But at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, he crashed out just past the halfway mark of the Brickyard 400, marking his first career DNF but the team's fourth in eight races this year. Dye's DNF was the team's first non-last-place DNF of the year, as Kyle Larson crashed out 50 laps before he did.
