The Washington Capitals will see a familiar face return to their preseason lineup for the first time in two weeks on Saturday night. Nic Dowd played in the team’s first exhibition game of the year on September 21 but departed training camp soon after for personal/family reasons. “Nice to get back to work and excited to get back in the swing of things,” Dowd said Saturday morning. Sourdif is entering his first season with the Capitals after being traded to DC by the Florida Panthers over the summer. Logan Thompson, taking more of the number-one starter role this year, will play the entire game against the Blue Jackets.
